I am not a big reader but there are times when books are cool and now is one of those times. I am re-re-re-reading "The One Thing You Can't Do In Heaven" by Mark Cahill and I am getting pumped up reading it again. For those of you who have never read it, what are you waiting for, for those of you who have never heard of it, where you been (ha ha), for those of you who have read it, want to read it again?
Anyway it is a book on witnessing ideas and stories and last night what I was reading was about there are 3 things that can happen when you share the good news, they can ACCEPT Jesus Christ, REJECT Him, or it PLANTS A SEED. They looked at it as GOOD, BAD, and GOOD. 66% of the time you present the good news it is a winning situation which are pretty good odds so why don't we share more often?
After looking in the bible and the verses escape me this morning but it says something to the effect of when you are rejected by man for Christ you have treasures stored in heaven. So that means when you are rejected for spreading the good news, cash registers in heaven are going crazy with treasures. So what that means is it's a winning situation EVERY TIME you spread the good news.
Something I thought of on the way to work, when we get a new car we want to show it off to as many people as we can, same with a new house we are all excited to show it off. Guys when you get that new tool or garage-mahal you tell your buddies and show it off to them as often as possible. Gals when you get that new "just push a button it cooks for you" oven you just have to tell all of your friends about it or when you get the best deal ever seen at the mall or shop you call your friends on the cell phone so they can rush right down there and get the same deal. WHY DON'T WE SHARE OUR FAITH IN JESUS CHRIST THE SAME WAY!!!!! I am just as guilty of that as the next person but this is the better than the best sale at (insert store name) or the biggest house, fastest car, fanciest HDTV so on and so on.
One last thing if you are driving by a house that is on fire and the fire dept. has not arrived yet and a mother is out screaming that her baby is still in there wouldn't you run in and try to save them? If someone is drowning in a pool wouldn't you jump in to save them? This is happening everyday with people we know and people we meet they are heading to hell or drowning in sin and yet we don't do anything. Lets all, myself included get off of the bench and in the game. Time is short and I don't want to have a friend come up to me on Judgement Day and ask "Why didn't you tell me about Jesus?" Let's all pray for each other for boldness and desire to tell everyone we meet. You might plant the seed you might be watering the seed but don't hold what Christ has done for you in TELL SOMEONE
