Did something yesterday I haven't done in quite some time, I played bass for the worship team. It has been well over a month since I had the bass out and for all intents and purposes I was ready to sell it to get other toys but now I think I will not be doing that because it will be getting some use in the next few weeks. On the new schedule for the worship team I'll be on bass every third week. I really enjoyed playing the old thing again and I'm looking forward to the next time. The bass seems comforting to me and holds a special place in the old heart because if it were not for the bass I would not be part of the worship team. That was my start a few years ago and have alot of good memories of those early days stepping out and getting uncomfortable. One of my fondest memories was I believe it was the first time I played in front of people was doing "Days Of Elijah" and Ryan McAllister was playing the REAL drums which I was standing next to and when we got to the "No God like Jehovah" part he started just pounding those things and I could feel it pounding in my chest and I was like "Yeah, this is cool". I miss the real drums, they made such a difference sound wise.
Did a double dose of youth yesterday with both jr. high and high school. There was alot of students there yesterday and I'm looking forward to next week when the new room opens up. After service yesterday went to the new Pizza Hut in Winchester with the Bly's and Brincefield's and enjoyed some time out with other families eating lotsa pizza and drinking lots of diet dew watching the Worlds Strongest Man Competition. Those guys are flat nuts.
Sunday set list
All We Need - Charlie Hall
Better Is One Day - Matt Redman
Grace Like Rain - Todd Agnew
It Is Well - Forget the guy but remember the story
King Of Glory - Chris Tomlin
Oh Praise Him - David Crowder Band* (just got his live cd/dvd and it rocks)
Joy To The World - ? (final Christmas song I think)

I survived, barely.
Yesterday was a crazy day to go shopping, the money and gift cards the kids got was burning a hole in their pockets. I know I used to be the same so what can you do. We headed into Muncie around 11 or so had to stop out at Tammy's work to drop off her phone and took her a little lunch. The plan was to stop back by to show her the loot the kids got but that never happened. It seemed like the day after Thanksgiving all over, people everywhere. Went to Wal-Mart and Tyson did some of his shopping there and was done rather quickly. Off to Family Christian stores for me and got some goodies and even have a bit left for next time. We were there for 15-20 minutes got up to the checkout and I decided against one cd I got and took it back to get another, get back up to the line, which there was only 1 person in front of us but Granny Gert decided to buy 15 boxes of Christmas cards then when she paid for them she decided to put the receipt in her purse without signing it so then she had to DIG it out to finish. Got done there and off to Toys R Us which once again didn't take that long. Stopped in for a few seconds at Best Buy, usually one of my favorite stores but I've been unimpressed the last few times I've been there. It took us longer to park then the time we spent inside. Now off to the mall.
I've said it before but some drivers in Muncie have no clue. Dodging cars and pot holes down McGaliard we went and the first turn in by Target the line started way back, no problem go to the one by Burger King, it started after the first one ended, no problem we will go up to the original turn in, problem, train. With the train our light was red while the other was green, we're stuck all we need to do is turn. Got tired of waiting so we did a big U-turn and headed back and got in finally. The mall was insane, Taylor was doing the shopping here so it took a little longer. She went to Wet Seal and got a pair of pants for like $26 and right behind them was a rack with the same type of jeans for $15 with a deal of buy 2 get a pair for a penny. Nope lets get the $26 ones. Off to Aeropostal where the line went from the register to the back of the store around the back and up to the changing room. Needless to say Tyson and I bailed and she was in there for at least an hour. Now alot of that was waiting in line but next year we either wait for a day or two or like I joked with Mom & Dad whoever gets her the gift card gets to take her.
We survived and got some pizza from Papa Murphy's and a movie for Tammy and I to watch "Burn After Reading" which we made it about 30 minutes in then after hearing the "f word" about 50 times we looked at each other and deciding that this has to be one of the stupidest movies we've seen we took it out and started to watch Wings only to realize we've already watched that particular DVD so we watched a thing on Lighthouses. Got to play a little PS2 with Sprint Cars 2 for a bit so the evening ended on a good note.

That's just wrong
For the last two years the kids have gotten us up at 3 am on Christmas morning to open presents and what not so they were asking what time this year, we said no earlier than 3. Well that didn't work. They came into our room to get us up at 2:15 am!!!!!!!!!!! Don't these kids sleep? Well as I sit here and type at 20 after 3 Tammy is sleeping on the couch and Taylor is asleep (finally, she's been awake since around midnight) and Tyson is building all of the LEGOS he got. Me I'm about ready to go climb back into the warm bed and continue the sleep that was interupted. 2:15 are you serious, anyone else get up that early?

The night before the night before Christmas
'Twas the night before the night before Christmas and outside its a mess
If I didn't have to go anywhere I wouldn't get dressed
Sorry can't think of anymore but its been a few days so I thought of that title and thought I'd share it with you, you know kinda like Saturday the 14th but different, see what happens when you should be in bed but instead your online.
Quick recap of what I can remember of Sundays songs:
Your Grace Is Enough - Chris Tomlin (Actually nailed this one again, woohoo)
Let God Arise - Chris Tomlin (Was rocking out on this one, then Pink threw a curve and went back to the bridge when I was rocking the outro, opps.)
Everlasting God - Chris Tomlin
Joy To The World - ?
Come Thou Fount - Robert Richardson
Oh Come, Oh Come Emanuelle - ? (never heard this song before in my life but it sounded pretty good)
Oh Come All Ye Faithful - ?
I'm glad that the Christmas song portion is done on my part, they have like 10 chords per 6 word lines kinda like G C G C D G C D C G all within 10 seconds. If I don't blog again everyone have a Merry Christmas and enjoy the time with your families and friends.

Happy B-DAY to the little Mrs.
The picture is a couple of years old as she doesn't like to have her picture taken so this is what I could get here at work to put up. Oh the memories of this pic, it was our first real big vacation about 2 years ago I believe when we went to Disney, Sea World, GatorLand, the Outer Banks, and Va. Beach. Good times and interesting enough this picture was taken on Sunday when we first arrived inside the Magic Kingdom and the next day was my birthday which we celebrated with a tropical storm at Sea World.

Love/Hate relationship
I've been having a little relational issues going on between myself and my guitars here lately. In the last 2 weeks I think I have pulled them out of the case maybe twice if even that. Not playing in the worship team last week wasn't a big deal, it was my scheduled week off so I was ready for that and thought I'd pull it out when I found out what songs we we're doing this week (yesterday). Then after scheduling issues for some of us it was decided to do a stripped down version which is cool, so they stayed wrapped up nice and cozy for another week. I did play for a bit on Saturday which was cool but lately I've not been excited about playing. Mainly because I'm going through one of those periods where my hands and mind are not on the same page, I know what I want to do and what I need to do but that information does not make it to where it needs to go. Plus it hasn't helped that we have been really busy for the last couple of weeks so there is not enough time. Here in a couple of days I'll probably pick it back up and have at it and hopefully it will be with renewed confidence, which I've been lacking for a couple of weeks.
I'm getting a bit excited about watching Tyson play his first ball game today, Tammy asked him if he was nervous for the game and he said no he's played in front of people at the Y before. Good answer. I hope he gets some playing time today and most importantly has some fun. After his game we will make the long trek down the road between schools and go watch Taylor cheer for the 8th grade girls BB team. Should be a fun filled evening.

Thats alot of people
Just got back a few minutes ago from Taylor's Christmas concert out at the school and let me tell you it was packed. Big props to Mr. Briggs and Mrs. Chalfant for putting together a great evening of entertainment. Now I'm a little partial to the "lil-chick" but I think she did a great job. Her and Emily C. had a little solo in the first song and then to my surprise she got up in front when the boys in the band had a surprise for Mr. Briggs. They busted out Whip It on these chime things and a drum set and it sounded cool. Taylor and Emily got up there and yelled the chorus, it would have been cool if the audience would have sang along but it was still rockin'. The choirs were good and I didn't think that the kids would stop coming out, man there was alot of them. High school band did an awesome job and the evening ended with a band with Mr. Briggs own rendition of Carol Of The Bells with the choir, good stuff. It was good to watch my daughter and quite a few of the kids from youth, plus addmission was a can good which was divided between FFC's food pantry and two other churches. It was a win-win night.

Guest blogger - Perry Noble
Got this from Perry Noble's blog the other day and thought I would share this with you. I am guilty of this myself from time to time and now I am making an effort to not do this. It is entitled KISSING TOILETS. Enjoy and thanks Perry for guesting on my blog.
I shared this story on Friday night at our worship celebration…and thought I should share it here as well.
I was in the bathroom the other day taking a “pee pee” when I turned to my right and there was Charisse staring at me. (It was totally awkard!)
SO…I told her, “Daddy is pee pee’ing in the toliet…you will do that one day.”
She looked at me, smiled and said, “pee pee!!!”
I then turned around to wash my hands, explaining to her that after we pee pee we clean our hands…but when I turned and looked at her she was staring at the toilet.
I was afraid she was going to stick her hands in it…so I told her, “don’t touch.”
BUT…that’s when she did the unthinkable…she leaned forward and kissed the toilet lid!
I wanted to throw up! Seriously…WOW! I told her, “NO!!!” And I scooped her up…and THAT IS WHEN SHE WANTED TO KISS ME!!!
AHHHHHH! What is a dad to do? I LOVE my little girl…but she kissed a freakin’ toilet seat!!! I watched the whole thing…it was SO GROSS…
I was about to put her down when the Lord spoke to my heart and said, “Hey Perry…what you just saw her do…you’ve done many times. You’ve kissed the “toilet” of the world all week long and then came into church and tried to kiss me!”
BAM!
For WAY TOO LONG coming to church was about making me feel better and not exalting a HOLY and RIGHTEOUS GOD. I would “kiss toliets” all week long by the way I spoke about other people, the things I looked at…the places I allowed my mind to wander…and then I would come to church wanting God to make me feel better…BUT COMPLETELY unwilling to repent of the sin that was dominating me.
One of the things that I think we often forget as follower of Christ is that He knows…He knows our hearts…He knows our minds…and He knows the toliets we kiss all week long.
Judas kissed Him…but it was a kissed laced with betrayal and greed. God is not pleased with our church attendance…but rather our repentance.
Just wondering…kissing any toilets? Anything in your life that you know God doesn’t approve of…you refuse to repent…and you are going to come to church this Sunday and pretend that eveything is okay with you & God?
These are tough questions to wrestle with…but doing so will reveal our hearts!!!
One more thing…I LOVE MY LITTLE GIRL! Even watching her kiss a toilet make me stop loving her. It made me sick…but didn’t change the fact that I love her. I don’t love her because of what she does…I love her because she’s mine!!!
I am so glad that God treats us the same way…even through the time when I was kissing toliets and breaking His heart…He never stopped loving me…and it was His patience and kindness that drew me to Him (and still does) and conforms me more and more to who He has called me to be!!!
Gotta go give Charisse a kiss!!!

Different this weekend
Did something yesterday that I have never done before and after doing it I would like to do it again sometime. I'll start off by saying that I had the week off from the worship team so we got to church a little later than normal so I was hanging out and I saw Stephen Price up at the soundboard so I thought I'd go say hey. When I got up there he asked me if I was doing anything today and if I wanted to help them out. So I agreed and we discussed what they needed help with and I accepted the position of "director" for the internet broadcast and DVD's. Let me just say that I had a blast and it was good to see the service from a different perspective. I really enjoyed that and hopefully there will be a chance to do it all again sometime. It was a little hectic at first having to watch the levels of audio during the service and watching what the cameras were shooting and to try not to get a camera that was moving in and out on the shot, but I got the hang of it and really enjoyed it. I do wish that I had contact with the people running the cameras so I could let them know when to zoom in and when to zoom out. If you watched online yesterday or if you get a DVD of the service I hope you enjoy it and its easy to watch.
Spent a bit of the afternoon at my nephews birthday party having some fun watching him and hanging with the family. Youth was fun as I sat in on half of junior high and then the regular high school one. I did have a bit of fun when Taylor and I finally got there as they were playing Sanctuary DodgeBall, we went to the doors on the side of the sanctuary and waited for someone to lean on them and when they did I opened them and they about fell out so that was funny on my part and it freaked them out.
Didn't even leave the house Saturday which was enjoyable, stayed home watched sports and watched it snow. Friday I finished up the basketball game on JOY FM and then did Solid Rock Friday Night which was fun. Had a couple of requests so that is always good. Had a brief brain fart at the start of the show as Ryan was signing off of the ball game I was playing the outro and waiting for him to hang up so I could as well and he thought someone else was in the studio so I was trying to talk to him but couldn't remember how to get him in my headset and get him to hear me so I forgot to get everything turned on and in its place so the first bit of the first song played was not heard. Got it all under control and made it through except for the TobyMac Christmas song which was a little weak for SRF but its all good.

Another reminder
If your looking for a little entertainment this evening say around 9:30-10:00, you can always turn your radio to 88.9 or if your surfin' the net at that time head on over to 889joyfm.com and check out Solid Rock Friday Night with your host, ME. I, being the dork that I am, have kept a little log sheet of all the times I have been over there doing SRF and I made a more advance list thingy and found out that I have played more different Pillar songs then any other artist. I have played 91 different artists in my time over there for the last year and a half. That number is probably bigger than that because one of the nights I was over there and actually did the whole 3 hours of the show I played 47 songs from 45 different artists but I cannot find my sheet for that show. The song I have played the most is "Fiction" from Indiana's own Kids In The Way, that song is a great song and has been requested 4 out of the 5 times I've played it, all 4 happen to be from my house with Tammy, Taylor and Tyson each requesting it at some point or another. I look forward to adding to the all of the list tonight.

Boomin' out your stereo
Tomorrow night once again I'll be hitting the airwaves of east central Indiana and western Ohio at 88.9 on the FM dial and streaming worldwide on the internet at 889joyfm.com from sometime around 9:30 to 11:00 doing another stint at Solid Rock Friday Night. I'll get over there at 9 or so to finish up the board for the first basketball game of the season then the rockin and rollin will commence. Join me if you can. I think I'll do a little "Back In The Day" kind of thing with some music from artists that aren't around anymore from particuallarly the '80's, been listening to some old jam tapes I made years ago and its been bringing back some good memories so I think I'll do a little spot on that tomorrow night. Go ahead and break out the spandex, bandanas, and big hair.

Back at it
Back here at work after 9 days off and let me tell you, its hard right now to get back into the swing of things. Just about the time I'm back in the swing we will be taking another break this time for 2 weeks as of now, that can all change but right now it doesn't look like it will. That will be real hard to come back from 14 days away but I'll manage. There is a blizzard of paperwork here on the old desk and I've got to get last month closed out and then concentrate on this month, wow it's December, where did the year go?
Church was different yesterday and I mean that in a good way, Francis Chan is an amazing speaker. Everything I've heard has just been off the hook. I could listen to him and Perry Noble, Steven Furtick, Ed Young, Charles Hill, Shannon O'Dell, & Brian Houston as well as PK and our pastoral staff everyday. Amazing men of God. Youth was fun and the excitement of the new room is growing each day, I'm pumped to check it out. Had quite a few kids last night and I'm sure in the coming weeks there will be more and I pray that they will be hooked on youth not just because of the cool room and all the people hanging out but also get hooked on Jesus.
Braved the crowds for a short bit Friday morning, our morning started at around 4:30 in Wal-Mart with a coat for Tyson and we were out of there at about 10 after 5. Saw the Skillman's there and they had been there since 10 pm Thanksgiving night, now thats insane. Left there to go to Target and the parking lot was pretty empty then we noticed that they didn't open until 6 and the line to get in went around the building. Went to eat instead then came back and the place was packed and what we went for was gone so we were back home around 6:45 and back in bed by 7 and ended up spending less then $20 for the day.
Sunday songs:
Trading My Sorrows - Darrel Evans
Lord, Reign In Me - Brenton Brown
King Of Glory - Chris Tomlin
Come, Thou Fount - Robert Robinson
Here I Am To Worship - Tim Hughes
Glorious - Chris Tomlin
Joy To The World - ? and not 3 Dog Night

A little humor
A little weather humor, some of you might not find it as funny because of the snow but I get a kick out of it.
I'm glad that the kids never tried anything like this.
Calvin and Hobbes had alot of funny cartoons, I enjoy going back and "reading" these collections that I have and have even passed it on down to Tyson who gets a kick out of them. Enjoy.

ThankfuIness
I am thankful for the following things:
Family. I have a wonderful wife and two awesome children who are a blessing. I also have two great parents and a pretty cool brother who help me out and make sure I'm living like I should. I also have a pretty cool "married" family the Crabtree's. Although we are missing one, she is not forgotten.
Church. We are blessed to have the pastorial staff that we have at FFC, they are great. Also have a great worship team and leaders. Pink, Nate, Brent you all do a awesome job.
There are many others that I will get to later but I just wanted to put that out there.

The weekend that was
I know its Tuesday and I'm just getting around to recaping the weekend but I took a glorious day off yesterday and it was nice. My 9 days off are shrinking but there is still lots of time to enjoy. This weekend was fun and enjoyable and at times it was one of those where did the time go kind of things. Taylor was invited to play in Winchester on Sunday with 99 other 7th, 8th & 9th graders from East Central Indiana in a high school band thingy that was really cool. I didn't know what to expect going into it but after spending time over there Sunday it was really good. They all sounded good, even though I had no idea what they were playing, and they did a great job. Hopefully we can get a video of the performance to relive those memories. Only bad thing was and now we know, sit up higher so you can see all of the kids instead of just the front row, we could barely see Taylor. Had to miss youth and the doorbell ditching but I really enjoyed hanging out with the family and watching Taylor preform.
Sundays service was another good one and PK and Pink both brought it. I love the passion in which both of those individuals have and when they share that with us. We are blessed to have them and all the other pastors on staff leading our church. I absolutely enjoy playing Let God Arise and Mighty To Save, I could play them a couple times a month and not get tired of them and I think that the congregation enjoys them as well. My fingers had a mind of their own again on the begining of Your Grace Is Enough, that is 2 or 3 times in a row now and its frustrating, I can nail it all day long here at home and at practice but during service they forget what they are doing, guess I have batting practice fingers.
Sunday Set List
Let God Arise - Chris Tomlin
Days Of Elijah - Twila Paris
Prince Of Peace (You Are Holy) - Micheal W. Smith
Your Grace Is Enough - Chris Tomlin
Mighty To Save - Hillsong
Majesty - Jack Hayford
Oh Come Let Us Adore Him - ?

Thanksgiving comes early
Tuesday night Thanksgiving came early as we went with Tammy's dad and his new wife to the Sirloin Stockade and had a Thanksgiving meal buffett style. It was alot of fun and there was plenty of good food which yes I ate too much, but it was a warmup for next week. Lots of laughs and just a good time. They are off to Tenn. for the rest of the month so it was fun to be able to have a get together even if it was a week in advance.
Ready for worship team practice tonight and another ball game for Taylor which I'll be just a bit late to but it should be a great evening. Found out yesterday that I probably will not be working next week, they are shutting the shop down except for a few hot jobs so even though I won't get paid for it I am still going to enjoy a few days of rest and relaxation and maybe even get a few things done around here.

Hillsong - You Are Here (The Same Power) - With Subtitles
Another one of those songs that would be cool to do some Sunday. It's just the chorus but its powerful. The worship team at "The Sticks" conference did this song when we took communion and for me it was one of those whoa moments.

First one out of the way
Well the first game is out of the way and now its time to get down to business. Taylor appeared to be a bit nervous at first last night but as the game went on all of the cheerleaders got more comfortable and louder, which with Taylor is good because alot of times she can be quiet but I could actually hear her last night. There were a few times when they were watching each other and one would mess up causing the others to mess up as well but as the game went on they all did a great job. Now its on to Thursday for the next one, I'll be a bit late for that one.
It was fun watching both the 7th and 8th graders play especially since there were 7 or 8 of them that go to youth group or church and I've kinda got to know some of them and hang out with them so it was good to support them, plus The Rick (aka Rick Brown) is coaching the 8th graders so there is alot of FFC connections during these games.

Just couldn't wait...
In case you didn't notice yesterday, but I think it was pretty obvious, I couldn't wait to hit that one chord on the first song. Couldn't wait so I hit it a line too early. That was the one chord I was looking forward to playing the most yesterday and I just couldn't contain my excitement so I just had to get it out there. I think though that we recovered nicely. Good song set yesterday and like I told Brent I really liked the ending where we all, for whatever reason just stopped playing and let everyone sing, awesome stuff. Tried something different yesterday, I had some earphones plugged in to the back of my foot pedal, I dug that, still getting used to it but I can really hear myself with that and still hear everyone else through the monitors. Youth was fun playing a little basket-dodgeball or was it dodge-basketball? Good times. Taylor has her first ballgame tonight and shes a tad nervous and excited at the same time. She took a year off from cheerleading but has really dug in this year so if you can say a quick prayer for her and her nervousness. Thanks.
Sunday set list
All We Need - Charlie Hall
Blessed Be Your Name - Matt Redman/Tree63
He Reigns - Newsboys
Undo - Rush Of Fools
Let My Words Be Few - Matt Redman
Healing Rain - Micheal W. Smith
Jesus Draw Me Close-You Are My All In All - Rick Founds & Dennis Jernigan
Above All - Lenny LeBlanc & Paul Baloche

Solid Rock recap with special guest
It was a fun night on Solid Rock Friday Night, not only did I get some extra time, I also had a guest host, Tyson. He had alot of fun and I don't think he was very nervous, he just went in and took care of business. Tammy recorded him and he got to hear himself a little bit when we got home and you should have seen the smile. It was fun having both of my kids have a little guest hosting and even let both of them take control for a segment or two on their nights in the studio. Fun couple of days
The last few days were a blast and I am thankful that I got the opportunity to go to The Sticks Conference. It was cool and it had some amazing speakers. It was alot of fun hanging out with a couple of the pastors from church and learning things about them and just hanging out. Even tried my very first Starbucks or as I like to put it *$'s. This little thingy * looked more like a star on my phone than it does my computer though. All in all it was a great time. Tuesday we heard from Mark Batterson, Barry Wochester and Charles Hill. All 3 brought something different to the table and each one was good. I really enjoyed Charles Hill, his church was the one hosting. The breakouts were good and got to talk tech with the worship leader there at New Hope (in ear monitors was the basis of our discussion). Yesterday we heard from Tim Stevens, Shannon O'dell, and Dwight Mason. Once again these 3 brought it, each one something different. I had Tim Stevens in a breakout session and enjoyed him more there but Shannon just flat out brought it and I'll be watching him and Charles Hill on dvd probably tonight.
This was my first conference so I didn't know what all to expect but it was a very enjoyable experience and there were a couple of WOW moments like the communion on Tuesday and the Youth Band from New Hope yesterday. They did a song that I don't know if they wrote or not but it was pretty good and looking around the room I don't know if alot of the people were getting it or not. Then they busted into Mighty To Save and worship broke out in a BIG way. That was one of the biggest highlights for me. Good times and a great conference now I'm ready for the next one, say maybe Catalyst.....hmmm.

Headed to the STIX's
In just a few short hours I'll be headed to the STIX's with a 4 of our pastors. What is the Stix's you ask, it's a conference for smaller sized churches in little towns. It looks like its gonna be fun and I am excited to go and pick up some info and knowledge and bring it back and put it to use. Just a half day here at work then off to see Tammy's new office digs then to the church then off to Loundonville for the conference.
This weekend we had alot on our plate of things that we needed to get done, especially on Saturday but instead of doing all of them we kind of just lounged around the house and just took it easy. It was alot of fun but still need to get them done. We did go out to the church and seperate the toys that were brought in and got everything ready for Sunday morning. There was alot of stuff there and Tammy was thinking we might get 50 or 60 boxes out, WRONG. I think the last total was around the 110 to 120 range. She said it reminded her of the story of Jesus feeding 5,000 with 5 loaves of bread and 2 fish, the kids just kept going around and around filling the boxes. Only God can do that and I know that we are gonna be blessing alot of children this Christmas.
Thanks also to all of you with the compliments about the worship time yesterday, its cool to hear those things even though I get a little embarassed by them. I'm just doing my part in serving the Lord, cause I couldn't do it on my own. Speaking of yesterday here is a look at the songs:
How Awesome Is The Lord Most High - Chris Tomlin (Could actually hear myself this weekend and this one started off the service with a bang.)
Holy Is The Lord - Chris Tomlin
How Great Is Our God - Chris Tomlin
Glorious - Chris Tomlin (I really liked this one with the switching of lead vocals in the verses)
Mighty To Save - Hillsong (Did this one just a bit different but it still packs a powerful punch)
Let God Arise - Chris Tomlin (This has turned into a personal favorite. Messed up in the bridge section though, I came in later than I was supposed to. Fun song to let loose on)

Rocked what I got.
Well I rocked it out tonight a bit and had alot of fun with the liners, yes I played them all so that took away some talking. Started out with a couple of left over requests that the others didn't have so I took care of that and I also got the 2nd ever twitter request for some Pillar for PK. Hope you enjoyed it. Just alot of fun and I'll let you know when I'll be back over there, basketball is getting ready to start in Dec and runs through Feb. I must have rocked it up so much that it wore Tammy and Taylor out as they were both zonked when I got home, I know it couldn't have been that I bored them. Here is the songs:
DC Talk - Jesus Freak
Underoath - A Moment Suspended In Time (These first 2 were the requests)
Anberlin - The Resistance
Falling Up - Moonlit
Pillar - For The Love Of The Game (Twitter request for PK)
Whitecross - Attention Please
Seventh Day Slumber - Burning Bridges
Jeremy Camp - Take My Life
Disciple - Stripped Away
Superchick - Rock What You Got
Fireflight - Waiting
Project 86 - Illuminate
Fear Not - We Have A God
Guardian - Fire And Love
Since October -Disaster
12 Stones - The Last Song

Friday has finally arrived.
Yes, it has finally arrived. I'm talking about Friday. It is the first of my 3 favorite days, its still a toss up between Saturday and Sunday for the top spot. This Friday is cool because from 10 to 11 pm tonight I'll be here. What does that mean for you? It means you should listen and rock out and or give a call at 1-877-335-4569 and make a request, hopefully I have it and I'll give it a spin for you.
Had worship team practice last night which was fun but a bit strange, it was strange from the fact that we only had Nate and his acoustic and me and my electric there for the music portion so that sounded a bit odd with no bass or drums but we should have that by Sunday. It was good to have Coby and Nate Harris join us last night and we did have some fun during practice. After practice hung out with both Nate's and discussed songs we've done in the past and songs that we should work on. Worship practice is going to get interesting for me in the next few weeks when Taylor's cheerleading and Tyson's basketball kick in, there will be a few Thursdays I'll probably miss which is something I don't like doing but I think you all understand.
If you were up and about at 5:30 this morning you could have saw an awesome looking sky with the clouds and the glow around the skyline, just cool looking. Then again most of you were probably smart and still in bed at that time.

Ready to use those liners
Found out last night that I will be doing the radio again this coming Friday night from 10-11 so come rock with me and lets have a little fun. I'm excited to use those liners that Naomi Miller helped me with and I'm just excited to rock out as always. So be sure to tune in on 88.9 or 889joyfm.com and call, e-mail, text, or twitter your requests in and lets rock. I was hoping to have Tyson go there with me but he might choose to go stay all night with a buddy instead, we'll wait and see on that.
I've seemed to have been involved in alot of meetings lately, at least there hasn't been any meetings to decide when to have a meeting yet but there is still time. Some of them are enjoyable and things get accomplished and then there are those that last way too long, these always seem to happen when your work load is heavy and you have alot to do and you just can't get out of the meeting, some that really have no meaning and you wonder how you're going to get that time back. Bad thing is, doesn't look like these meetings will be letting up anytime soon so I'll just have to roll with it.

Yeah, It's over.
Well the election is FINALLY over, no more campaign ads on TV or on the radio. We will stop hearing about how candidate 1 has a slight lead over candidate 2, no more slander, no more mud slinging, we will be back to business as usual whatever that is. If you know me you know that I really don't give two hoots about politics, but this year I tried something different, I tried to actually care about the presidential race and look at what I got, 2 candidates who seemed like they were more concerened about what the other one was doing instead of what they are going to do if elected. After all this I still don't give two hoots about politics. Maybe I'm narrow minded, maybe I'm not "in tune" with whats going on, or maybe I just don't care. I don't know what to think about Obama, somepeople say he is a Godsend and is just what this country needs others swear up and down that he is the anti-Christ and we are headed down a road of destruction. I guess we will just have to sit back a bit and see what plays out. I do know this, either way I hope Christ comes back soon to take us away from this place.

Why didn't I know about this earlier.
Woke up this morning just a bit later than usual say around 5:45 am, I usually leave at 5:30 am, so I got ready, called work told them I'd be late and headed out the door. Now the thought occured to me that it is 6:10, I could go vote now and be done with it and just be a little bit later than I should be or go to work and do it afterwards, the afterwards won out so I came on in. Got here and had to go up front for a meeting, get done and come back and my supervisor asked if I voted this morning since I was late and I told him no. He then proceeds to tell me that had I voted and brought my little ticket thingy that all of the lateness for the day would be excused. WHY DIDN'T I KNOW ABOUT THIS EARLIER? Should have went with my instincts. Oh well.
I did get to go yesterday over to JOYFM and help out Naomi with the liners for Solid Rock Friday Night adding some music to them and having a bit of fun with the whole deal, now all I need is to go over there on a Friday night and put them to use. Some of them are a little funny and some are just more straight forward, you'll have to listen some Friday Night to hear them.

Technical difficulties
Had a little technical difficulties yesterday during service, now I just have to figure what it is. Got it narrowed down to 1. cables, which is what I am hoping it is because it is the cheapest and easiest fix. 2. The guitar itself and by that I mean the input jack where I plug in at, it might have a short in it. Now this probably wouldn't be expensive to fix but would be more of when and where can I get it done at. 3. The one that I hope is not it is my foot pedal. I have no idea how I would get this fixed except getting a new one, which has crossed my mind but only in a getting rid of the one I have and the bass to get a new one. We'll get it figured out and get things back to normal. It kept cutting in and out yesterday and then towards the end of the first set and for offering I had nothing, that is why I didn't make it up there for the second set in case you were wondering.
Great weekend with the youth having a surprise party for the Pinkertons Saturday night, Tammy and I took some kids over there, not our own, they were at friends house so after we got back we turned around and went over to Arby's for a little date. Youth was fun last night watching the kids play a newer version of capture the flag. I am ready for the new room because I think big things are going to happen there.
Song list:
How Awesome Is The Lord Most High - Chris Tomlin
God Of Wonders - Third Day
Your Love Oh Lord - Third Day
Jesus Messiah - Chris Tomlin
40 - U2
Enough - Chris Tomlin
How Great Is Our God - Chris Tomlin

2 am
It's 2 am and for some reason I am awake and rip roarin ready to go. It was a fun evening and I was dead tired but now I have woken up and can't sleep. Trying to get sleepy again by hanging out at the computer but right now its not working.
Had alot of fun watching Tyson collect all his loot walking around town tonight going up and down the streets, he had a blast and I had fun watching him. It was a wonderful evening weather wise so that made it enjoyable as well. Ended up out at the Fall Festival at the church and had alot of fun hanging out and talking with alot of people. Had some good hot chocolate and even had a special one made towards the end of the evening from PK, if I remember correctly it started with a mini Hershey bar in some hot water, add in 4 or 5 scoops of hot chocolate mix just a touch more water heat it up nice and good then add a few more scoops of hot chocolate mix for good measure, stir it up so when the spoon comes out it looks like your making candy and wallah, you have a REAL CHOCOLATEY mix. Come to think of it maybe thats why I'm awake now. It was good though and it gives you a sugary high that I'll still be on Sunday at church probably. Watch out front row I might stage dive, now wouldn't that be a sight. NOT. Have PK make you a special hot chocolate sometime, I'm sure he would.

2 days later
I know its 2 days later but here is a recap of Sunday's song list and a few other tidbits. First off it was cool to have our buds from Columbus (Aub & Roy) there at church this weekend, wish we would have been able to have lunch afterwards but it didn't work out. Hope you guys come back again and hang out. Music was fun and wasn't that totally awesome all those kids that seemed to just keep coming and coming. We have a great future ahead of us. Youth was fun with a little dodgeball and hanging out with the dudes and dudettes. The only bad thing about Sunday was the NASCAR race, I'm tired of the same people winning. I remember when there was a time where there were 15 to 20 drivers who could win, now its much lower and man are most of the races boring. I know some of you have thought that all along, but working with a short track series I miss those races that hardly ever had a guy win by over 6 seconds.
Speaking of the short track stuff, the series I worked for are is in Nashville this weekend for the Adam Petty Memorial All American 400 at the Nashville Fairgrounds. I went one year and that was awesome. This year there are 45 cars entered with drivers from 16 states and 1 from Canada. That is going to be a great race.
Something I failed to mention last week was that Angel Silvers, Tammy and myself all went to the Christian Men's Ministries Friday to serve breakfast. Bad thing was they really didn't have any food so we ran to Micky D's and got them breakfast. I think they enjoyed it as it was pretty quiet in there for a bit while they all dug in. That was fun. The dude who was in charge was a pretty cool fellow even if he declined going to work for me that day.
Sundays Songs:
Let God Arise - Chris Tomlin
Oh Praise Him - David Crowder Band*
Hallelujah (Your Love Is Amazing) - Brian Doekerson
You Are My Portion - Darrel Evans (I was singing this song all weekend)
The Solid Rock - Edward Mote
The Arms Of Love - Vinyard
Famous One - Chris Tomlin

I'm still here
It's been a busy couple of days and I've finally got a chance to sit down and relax for a moment so I thought I'd blog. My computer at work, where I normally post from early in the morning decided to come down with a virus so it is getting fixed and I've been busy for the past few days so no time here at home to post. Had worship team practice yesterday which was fun and I'm looking forward to Sunday but at the same time I'm not because I was having trouble with something at practice, I would have all kinds of sound then I'd turn down to hear someone talk and then turn it back up and it would be really faint for a moment then after messing around with settings and such then BOOM there it is again. Don't know if a chord is shorting out or if I have an issue inside the guitar or what. I guess we'll see Sunday.
Went to the station tonight to do the board for the last football game of the year and it was interesting. 3 times that I remember and maybe a 4th we lost the call so we had dead air and I started playing the sponsor spots waiting for a call back, that was frustrating but there was nothing I could do but be ready. Next week starts regular SRF's for a few weeks, don't know when I'll be on but I'll let you know. Think I'll be heading over there sometime next week to work on some liners for the show with Naomi which I'm excited about. I came up with some liners for the show and we'll add some music and extras to them and debut them next Friday night. Got home from Muncie before heading over there and noticed that there was paint all over the side of the house. It was paint ball stains and we got alot of them off but not all, then tonight when I got home one of our neighbors came over and appologized for that, seems his friends were having a little fight last night with paint ball guns and got out of control, he offered to come over tomorrow and help clean the rest, I thought that was cool of him.

Signs for everything
Went over to our new warehouse at work today and found this sign. Do we really need to be reminded of somethings? UMMM...

Hmmm..
Not playing yesterday with the worship team left me thinking a bit yesterday. When your not playing you pay a little more attention to the words of a song. Most Sundays I'm up there reading the words but paying more attention to what chord is coming next or when to change settings on the foot pedal to get a different sound or what the little fill or riff is coming up. There are alot of things happening sometimes up there that keeps my attention from what is being said. Now before anyone thinks any differently there are those times where the lyrics of the song do connect and they connect in a big way. I had forgotten though what it was like to hang out in the seats for a whole service, those days are nice every once in awhile. I did find myself a few times going D, Am, F# here is where the little riff is....
Youth was fun as we went on a picture scavenger hunt which was fun and challenging. We didn't win but my team had some fun, even tried to hold up the team of Jamie Vickery at the Pizza King in P-Town down. It was all fun and had alot of laughs and now after the fact come up with some ideas of how we could have done things differently to maybe fair a bit better. Next time.

Quotes
A few months ago I was invited to a meeting here at work with about 7 other people to discuss who knows what but all I remember was thinking why am I in here because the dialog of the meeting was basically between 2 people the rest of us just sat there. Anyway the guy who was leading the meeting was talking away when he said something that sounded kinda funny, I looked up and looked over at my boss who had the same "did he just say that" look on his face as well, so since I had my notebook in front of me I decided to write down what he said and for our entertainment he had 2 more quotes that day. Since then I have been writing down these little quotes and have a nice little list going and when someone says something interesting I write it down and now people know that they are on "THE LIST", which is actually something you don't want to be on. So here are the quotes, names excluded to protect peoples intelligence.
"Its all just bridge under the water." The first quote
"We'll go on business as ever."
"We really can't should."
"Now we are getting to the burger of the sandwich."
"Hey I found a whole movie last night."
"Should this could be different."
"We have to get the watermelon off the ground before the fruit in the trees." (I sure hope watermelons don't grow on trees, that would hurt to have one drop on your head.)
Player 1 "These are copper"
Player 2 "What's the copper made of?"
"That's neither here nor there it's water OVER the dam."
"Who left this half a bread?"
"Do you still have that book you gave me?" (one of my favorites.)
And the final one so far......
"I need to find a back with no chair."

Just a thought/question
Have you ever driven by the church (FFC) early in the morning and see all the lights around the building on and think "what a cool place."
Have you ever thought back when there was just the sanctuary there and thought "what a cool place."
Then the Family Life Center was added and you thought "what a cool place."
Then the Building to Bless started and the new building was added and thought "what a cool place."
Have you ever stepped inside on a Sunday and been to a service, complete with coffee, and think "what a cool place."
Have you ever known someone from school or wherever who you thought you'd never see in a church setting and bump into them at FFC and see a change and think "what a cool place."
Have you ever sat in a service and feel God's presence in a mighty way and think "what a cool place."
Have you ever been to the church and had your own life changed for eternity and think "what a cool place."
Have you ever thought that heaven is going to be way beyond your wildest dreams and think "what a cool place."
We have been greatly blessed with all that has happened in little old Farmland and I have this feeling that we ain't seen nothin' yet, just you wait and see.

Another good weekend gone by
Don't know if anyone else had a good weekend but I know I sure did, even got to start it off a little early by getting off of work at 1 pm on Friday. Left early because Tammy and I were going to go get a new car, saw one at Grimm in Winchester we really liked so we were off to there. Got over there and drove it, not bad but Tammy was hearing something she didn't like, they checked it out and agreed to fix it. Sat down to work out the numbers and got it in the range we wanted so we were scheduled to go back over there this evening to drive it again and go from there. We drove a 2008 Impala that was a very nice ride, too bad that wasn't in our range. So we head home wondering are we doing the right thing and I kept telling myself and Tammy that we were. Went to JOY FM to run the board for the football game and then got to rock out for a little over an hour with Solid Rock Friday Night, I'll be back over there this Friday doing SRF from 10 to 11, come rock with me.
Saturday we decided to go to Muncie and look at some more vehicles because the one from Winchester wasn't sitting right. Head off to Muncie behind Tammy and realized about Selma that I didn't have my wallet, opps. Turned around went back to get it and then to go meet Tammy to go looking. This delay gave me time to pray and finally get it, by that I mean I'd been praying about getting the right car and God leading us to it and I kept hear NO in my prayer but kept overlooking it, talking myself into believing we were doing the right thing, but it was real clear during the trip finally into Muncie that this is not the time to get a car, don't you love it when you finally GET IT and then realize all these little stumbling blocks were placed there on purpose for me to see this. I started wondering how Tammy would take this new news flash and she was very receptive and totally agreed, she mentioned it was like a weight being lifted off her shoulders. Long story short no new car, getting the old one fixed up and then its save money time and maybe next year we will be able to get another vehicle.
Church and youth both rocked yesterday, helped out at both youth groups which was alot of fun, don't know if you know it or not but we have alot of good kids in our midst at FFC. Here is yesterdays song list:
O' For A Thousand Tounges - David Crowder Band* version (thanks Pink for helping out, speaking of Pink-when you gonna blog again brother?)
Forever - Chris Tomlin
Let Every Thing That - Matt Redman
All We Need - Charlie Hall (I like the rocked up version we do on this one)
Indescribable - Chris Tomlin
Thank You- Not real sure who this is at this moment
Awesome God - Rich Mullins (Haven't done this one in a while but it sure was loud)

Little friendly challenge.
Hey all I just checked out JOY FM's website and they have a listing of all the towns that have had people pledge these last few days and noticed that Farmland has doubled up Parker City in pledgers 4 to 2. What's up P-Town Down? Bragging rights are on the line here and my fellow Farmlanders we need to build on this and keep pushing that number up into double digits. There is no way Parker City can reach double digits in pledgers so lets put it on them once again. Today is the final day for the sharathon so lets end this thing with a bang. For the record Winchester is ahead in the Randolph County area with 23 followed by Union City with 21 then Lynn with 7, Farmland with 4, P-Town and Albany both have 2 and Modoc 1.
Had a little worship team practice last night which was fun and we figured out a few new twists to some things but it was kind of hard to only practice with 3 people, but like I said it was a fun evening and I'm anxious for Sunday. Hung out with Nate for a while after practice and really enjoyed just chillin' and sharing ideas and stuff.
Today just might be new car day so if you could say a little prayer for us that we find the right one and one that is not going to strap us down financially. Pray that God leads us to the one we are supposed to have. Thanks in advance.

Almost there
It is almost weekend time and that my friends is a good thing. Got a little worship team practice tonight then who knows what tomorrow night then hopefully a nice 2 day weekend and maybe just maybe go looking again for a new vehicle. We got our eye on a couple over at Grimm in Winchester so we might sneak over there and check them out a little more. Tammy is scheduled to go to her first trade show with the place she works at Sunday in Indy so that should be fun for her. All kinds of things going on, Sharathon at JOY FM, have you pledged yet? Fire Prevention all day Saturday uptown, the Winchester 400 this weekend out at the Winchester Speedway, this will be the first one I've missed since I believe 1984. Saw my first one in 1982 when Rusty Wallace won the race and have been hooked ever since. That race is one of the biggest in the short track community and it has a who's who of stock car drivers who have participated in it. Its all good.
Had a blast last night at our growth group, it is always fun hanging out with friends from the church and enjoying the fun times. Now I'm looking forward to next Wednesday.

Fun filled afternoon
I come home yesterday after work to see this sitting outside our house and no I'm not talking about Mr. Price there. Taylor got home from school and when she went inside see smelled gas and no not leftovers from my spicy burritto and chilli cheese fritos from last week. Tammy had told me on the phone about what happened and that Taylor was over at Mom and Dad's and I guess they even went over there and smelled it as well. So Tammy got ahold of the police and Melvin Nott came down to take a look and he notified the fire department so they came down to take a look.
Funny thing is as I was picking Tyson up at school when we came out I heard the fire siren ringing and kind of laughed cause I knew where they were going. Told Tyson we might have some visitors when we get home and we did. We can joke about it now since it was nothing, they took their little meter thingys in there and couldn't detect anything out of the ordinary, but I am glad for a good bunch of guys on the FFD whom I was once a member of a few years back. It was also funny driving down the road and seeing the people standing in their yards looking down there with their morbid curiosity, which yes we all have from time to time. All is well and I had to take a couple of pics to keep up with PK and his photos of the trips the department makes out to FFC.
After things settled down Tammy and I watched a little Perry Noble.
It was a message on tithing and financial things which went well with our current series plus they had Decemberadio leading worship that particualar Sunday. If you want to check it out go to NewSprings website and watch the video. Its a good message and service. It made me think, why can't we get a national act to come lead worship for us some Sunday, I'd hand over my guitar to them for a week, hmmmm..

Quick reminder
In case you do not know or if you do know just a little reminder that JOY FM will be having their fall sharathon starting tomorrow Wed. Oct. 8th and going until Fri. Oct. 10 to raise money to keep the station functioning. Now I am a little biased because I get to go over there and play a little bit every couple of weeks but isn't it great to be able to turn on the radio and not only hear some good music but songs that are safe for all ages and songs that praise God. I believe the goal is $80,000 to keep the station going for the next 6 months. That seems like alot but at the same time not alot. So if you read this and are able to please help out with anything you can and I say thank you in advance. I pray that they can achieve this goal before going off the air on Friday for football, that would be cool. So please tell all your friends and neighbors and support JOY FM. By the way I'll be on there next Friday the 17th for some rockin.

Why can't all days be Sunday
Sunday has been for quite sometime now the best day of the week for many reasons. #1 another great series is underway at FFC, we are learning how rich we are. As we sit and think we always think that we're not rich, we're just getting by, but when we really sit and think about it we are rich. When you are in the top 3% in the world your doing pretty good I'd say. Now the only question I have is how can we help get the other 97% on track? #2 Youth Group. Each week is so much fun to hang out with the students and other leaders and just having fun with each. I look forward to 5:30 every Sunday and I'm really looking forward to the opening of the new youth room, I don't think it can get here soon enough. Oh and by the worlds standards we talked about 2 of the greatest things yesterday at church, money and sex, and people say that church is boring, how cool is our church? #3 NFL and NASCAR and for the next few weeks only MLB. Sundays are great days in between trips to the church with all the sport options on TV and that cherised nap if wanted during that time. Sundays are by far the greatest day of the week in my opinion.
Sunday Set List:
Not To Us - Chris Tomlin (Fun little diddy to play)
It Is You - Newsboys (Been awhile on this one)
The Heart Of Worship - Matt Redman
All Who Are Thirsty - Vinyard/Kutless
Break Me - Nate & Nate (First time ever playing this and I like it)
I Am Free - Newsboys (Been awhile on this one as well)
Mighty To Save - Hillsong (A favorite of everybodies I think)

Not a good sign
Today looked to be starting off like a pretty good day, Friday end of the week thing you know, went to fill up with gas so I could make it to work and headed in. All was well, went to the ATM at the bank to get some money and I noticed that the car was running really rough, got done there and took off and something is not right with the old Toyota. Going on to work, hoping I make it the check engine light comes on, great. Made into work and now wonder what should I do now? Will it make it home? Do I need to take it somewhere this morning (sounds of cash registers in my head), what should I do? On top of that, or actually before this happened, Tammy's car is having a hard time starting (have I mentioned I hate cars) so we need to get that fixed, oh when it rains it pours. So it looks like we will be getting both cars worked on in the immediate future. Happy Friday!!!!!!!!!!!

The day has arrived.
Today is the day that we are giving away Layla our dog. It has been a month or so since we decided that we need to find another place for her and yesterday one of the fellows that Tammy works with asked if we were still had her and if we were still looking for someone to take her. She said yes and he said he would take her so today Tammy is taking her into him. It is a bummer but I know in the long run it is the best thing. The kids kind of took it hard yesterday but thanks to Mom and Dad I think they now understand the situation a little better. Its gonna be wierd going home today and not having her jump up on me, maybe Tyson can do that now, or the actual getting up when the alarm clock goes off instead of hitting snooze to take her out. It will have its moments of difficulty but I still believe that this is best for all of us. She was good, she was bad, she was a joy to play with, and sometimes she was a pain but all in all she was a good dog to have for the few months we had her. I'm sure the kids will come up with some other type of pet that we should have and with Tyson that scares me because who knows what animal he would like as a pet. I guess it was only fitting that for the first time in the months that we had her that I stepped in a pile of poo this morning getting her chain up out of the ground. Oh the symbolism.

Show of hands
All those who didn't want to get out of bed this morning raise your hands, come on I know theres more of you, I've got my hand raised so come on don't be shy. It is getting to be great sleeping weather, is there such a thing, and as a matter of fact we were in bed before 9:30 last night, 9:30. I turned the baseball game off after the 6th inning, just couldn't hold my eyes open so we went to bed. It was a good nights sleep and one that I didn't want it to end so early at 4:30 in the a of m. Oh well duty calls.
Speaking of baseball just a bit ago, this is a great time of year with the playoffs starting today even though my Braves aren't in it again I'm still pumped up for it. More so because the Yankees aren't in the playoffs this year. I would like to see Tampa Bay win the World Series because nobody expected them to be where they are so thats who I'm pulling for plus they don't have a superstar so to speak of on the team so they didn't go out and buy their way into the playoffs like alot of other teams do. I'll be happy though if the Cubs (sorry Dad), Dodgers (sorry Pink) and Red Sox don't make it to the World Series. This is usually the time of year where Tammy starts to get into baseball a bit and then when shes all excited about watching a game its over, isn't that the way it goes. Anyone else interested in the playoffs?

Almost forgot
I forgot yesterday to include this in the post but alas I didn't completely forget so this is an addition to yesterdays post. YOUTH GROUP. That is how my Sunday late afternoons and early evenings are spent hanging out with the youth from the church and surrounding area and some of the coolest leaders on the planet. I am really excited about the new area and all the things that are going to be happening with the launch of it and all the new kids that are going to be strolling through our doors and all the changed lives that are going to be the result of the new area.
I enjoy hanging out with the youth every Sunday and even though I pay for it every Monday and sometimes even Tuesday, I have a blast playing football with a bunch of the students and leaders and sometimes basketball and sometimes I go easy and teach Samon a lesson or two in some Madden. This week we played a little ULTIMATE FRISBE (sp) which was alot of fun and I hope that we play that some more. I can see that becoming like Sanctuary Dodgeball and something that alot of people look forward too. This week there was a challenge dropped down before each student. That was there are 89 days til Christmas and there are 89 chapters in the 4 gospels, you know Matthew, Mark, Luke, & John, so they were challenged to read a chapter a day until Christmas so if you could help pray and encourage our youth to spend time in God's word that would be great.
It is always cool to look out on a Sunday morning and see alot of our youth worshiping with us and this week was no different and actually had a few new ones with us which was cool. Speaking of cool isn't it great that the temps are gonna be in the 60's for much of the rest of the week?

Weekend that was
Don't know about you but I had a great weekend. Started off Friday with another date night with Tammy and the other couples from our small group then got to sleep in on Saturday for the first time in well over a month which was very nice and very much needed. Got up and went with Tammy to Winchester then took off on over to Union City for a little stint on the radio. I did the noon to 3 Saturday afternoon show for the first time in a while and it was fun. I really enjoy going over there and helping out, now I won't lie I like doing the Friday night stuff the best because its more my style of music but the weekday and Saturday thing is still fun plus it is a more organized thing with everything already planned out for you.
Learned a good lesson on Saturday afternoon early evening, never take Taylor, a friend of hers, and Tyson shopping at the same time. She don't like the stores he likes and vice versa so that makes for a long shopping trip. Plus she had $10 but kept looking at stuff that was more than that, sometimes well more than that. Finally she found something so all was not lost.
What a day yesterday. Jeff once again brought it, and for the most part we on the worship team did as well. I think Jeff is getting more and more comfortable giving the messages, good job Jeff. Tammy invited her brother and his wife again and they came and a friend of ours from Columbus also came to join us yesterday, it was really cool having them there and I hope that they all come back again, soon, got that Aub, bring Roy next time too ok. Still not pleased with the little solo but our little surprise at the end with the false ending went real well. Let God Arise is one of those songs that get people fired up, there have been a few that do that, Mighty To Save, Days Of Elijah, Shout Unto God, and more. Got even more surprises next week if it will work, little hint-you'll be able to see what I'm talking about if you watch online or get a dvd of the service.
Song List:
Everlasting God - Chris Tomlin/Lincoln Brewster (This was a good opener)
From The Inside Out- Hillsong United (Better than last time but still struggled through the solo)
Oh The Wonderfull Cross - Micheal W. Smith
Shout To The Lord - Hillsong (Did anyone else notice how loud this one was?)
My Hope Is In You - Thrid Day
Let God Arise - Chris Tomlin (read above, got to rock out a little on this one which in my book is always a good thing, you know "worship at full volume")

Another date night
Got to have another date night with Tammy last night except this was more of a mega date night with 5 other couples from our small group as we went to Anderson to see the new movie "FIREPROOF". It was a great movie and it was so fitting to what our small group is learning about right now. It was also refreshing to go see a movie that was very entertaining and had a message in it without all of the cussing and sex and everything else that seems to be in movies today. I highly recomend going to see it, it will be well worth your time. Its not the most high budgeted movie and there are a few times where it shows just a bit but for the most part you can't really tell. It was just a good movie and it was alot of fun hanging out with the other couples from our group just hanging out afterwards and beforehand at Arby's eating.
Today from noon to 3 I'll be on Joy FM so tune in and hang with me for a few hours if you'd like then its off to that wonderful toy store I call SAM ASH, if you've never heard of it it's a huge music store with lots and lots of guitars, basses, drums, keyboards, etc. you name it, they got it. We have to take Taylors clarinet down there to get it looked at and I'm pretty sure I'll be doing some dreaming and salivating while I'm there. Hmmm Tammy's letting me go there alone with the kids, whatever will I come home with ;} Speaking of Taylor she got the call last night and she made the cheerleading squad for the 8th grade, I'm so proud of her and now I'm excited for basketball season to go watch her cheer.

Chris Tomlin - Let God Arise
As many of you know I'm not a big Chris Tomlin fan but this song rocks from all angles and yes we are doing this song again this weekend. So practice up on the words and be sure to sing REALLY LOUD Sunday.

Is it Sunday yet?
Had worship team practice last night and all I can say is I can't wait until Sunday. It was alot of fun last night and we tweaked a few things and just had alot of fun. If we can pull it off like we did last night this weekend it's gonna be so cool. Who knows might even try doing some background singing. Only thing I'm nervous is about is we are doing one of my favorite songs and I have to do a little solo and I hope that my fingers work right.
To update yesterday, Taylor had her tryouts last night and is pretty confident that she did good. I got home and she showed me what all she did and I have to tell you I get a big kick out of watching her, she is pretty good. She will either find out today or tomorrow if she made it or not. There were 7 girls who originally were going to go out but 1 backed out and according to the coach only 5 will make it. Tyson is doing good and I think tonight we will bury Teddy out back with the other animals that have passed on.
I hope that I don't have to work this weekend, it would be nice to actually have a weekend again, its been awhile.

I thought it was fall
As most of you know I'm a fan of all 4 seasons of weather and I am glad that we have entered into another season, fall. Having said that though I am wondering where it really is, its hidden behind a facade of summer right now. I know that alot of people are probably enjoying the temps still being in the 80's with lots of sun and no rain but I'm ready for temps in the 50's and 60's with rainy days and the like. Plus it also means chilli for supper maybe even some potato soup and all those fall type foods. Now I know you can eat those things anytime but when its 90 degrees outside, a big bowl of hot chilli just doesn't appeal to me, its something that needs to have cooler temps with it, and a peanut butter sandwich. And just think with it being fall that means that winter is coming, blizzard, blizzard, blizzard. If your thinking Dairy Queen on that last statement, go ahead and bring me a cookie dough one.
A couple of quick notes to, if you can say a little prayer for Taylor today. She has cheerleader tryouts tonight and I know she'll be a little nervous, ok she'll be nervous alot. So if you can pray for her nerves to be calm that would be too cool. And also Tyson as well because one of his rats died yesterday so he's kind of bumming right now. Thanks to all for the prayers in advance.

Opps
I really need to pay more attention to things, maybe I need to ask for a raise at work to help pay for it. If you remember last week we had the $223 pizza bill well yesterday I was on facebook, which for those of you who don't know is kind of like a myspace without "Candy" wanting to be your friend and show you her pictures. So anywho there are all kinds of different things you can do on facebook for a little fun like having a snowball fight, playing dodge ball, and other various things. There is this thing called "Superpoke" where you can throw things at people or just do various things to them, all in good fun. Well it seems as though my little friend Jennifer Wise decided to "throw a chicken" at me, now I'm not going to sit there and have a chicken thrown at me and not retaliate, so there is this option to do something back at the person who has poked you so I click on that and only 5 things come up. Now I know that there are tons more items to choose from so I click on the "SUPERPOKE THEM" tab thinking I'll see all those wonderful and mischevious options and I can pick the one that fits the best in this situation of chicken tossing. But to my surprise this big box comes up on my screen saying "YOU BLEW A KISS AT" Jennifer. NO thats not what I wanted to do, you don't blow a kiss at someone who just pelted you with a chicken, you throw something bigger at them. Seems like those 5 options that came up had one checked already and when I hit the superpoke tab it did what was highlighted, which I was not paying attention to what was going on. So I went back and threw "Sophia from the Golden Girls" at her. Mental note to self, PAY ATTENTION. Oh well it was good for a laugh.

Tuesday stuff
Well its Tuesday but why does it feel like a Monday. Don't want to be here at work today, there is alot of tension in the air here and I have a feeling that will soon be cut in a few hours and I don't know how to feel. There is one in the area who is shall we say a bit of a troublemaker so to speak but doesn't think that they are. All of us in the area get along pretty well but there is one who seems to cause friction at least once a week if not more. That could all be ending today. I don't know if I should be happy because it will make this area easier to come into daily or if I should be bummed because someone might be losing a job. I just don't know. All I know is I want to be at home in bed right now.

Night of Worship
If you weren't there last night, where were you? No seriously that was the first event like that I've participated in and that was alot of fun and it was a great night of worship. All those involved really seemed to bring it last night. I haven't got to hear Tonya sing a whole lot but she really brought it, something I found cool was during her song I looked out and in one of the doorways I saw these little eyes peeking in, it was Sidney and you could just see that look in her eyes that was saying "thats my mom", I thought that was cool. The two Hardacre sisters both have incredible voices and they really hit it last night. The team that Debi led knocked it out as well and so did Dave. We on the worship team didn't do too bad either. I think people are really digging "Let God Arise". I was kind of worried about busting into "How Awesome Is The Lord Most High" with a couple of people at the altar but I think everyone else sure was ready for it judging by the response of the crowd. I thought it was cool how many people stuck around for "Mighty To Save" which was the song we were going to play as people left but most stayed and really go into that one as well. That was alot of fun and I'm sure we'll do something like that again sometime soon. One last thing it was great to see the youth there hanging out with us. Those are my peeps.

Bonus day
Had a little bonus yesterday that was unexpected. Went over to the ray dee eye oh station to take over the board for the second half of the football game for Dan Lipps cause he had to be at work at 10 pm so I was running the board until the person who was supposed to do Solid Rock Friday Night came in. About 20 til 10 Ruby, who was to do the show, called and wasn't feeling well so I told her I'd cover for her and I had a little bonus time on the air. Haven't been over there for a few weeks and was not due to be back over there until next Friday night. Had some fun but was limited to what they had over there, but we survived and I enjoyed it.
But before I could go over there we had to run back into Muncie to correct something. I had stopped at Papa Murphys to get some pizza for everyone and got it ordered and the amount was $23.98 so I gave them the old debit card and got my stuff and went on my merry way. Got home to write down in the checkbook what all I had got and noticed that the reciept from Papa Murphys said $223.98, and I thought they were cheaper. Called in and we had to go back in to correct it so we did, I wasn't all grouchy or anything I knew that the lady that waited on me probably just hit one too many numbers so it was all good and we got it all fixed. Mental note to self, check reciept before leaving to make sure of total.
SRF song list for Friday:
Disciple - Game On
Casting Pearls - Weighted
Anberlin - A Whisper & A Clamor
Pillar - Frontline (for Tyson and his buddy Ian)
Alife Echoed - Party Girl (for Taylor)
Flyleaf - Perfect (for Jake in Greenville, OH)
Ilia - Portrait Of A Lying Heart
Falling Up - Hotel Aquarium
Bride - I Ain't Coming Down
Decyfer Down - No Longer
Red - Breathe Into Me
Hillsong United - Salvation Is Here

Randomness
Just a few random tidbits today.
We've been changing the appearance of the office here at work and there is a fellow who comes in to build walls and other general constructions things and I found out the other day he likes to not only talk to himself but what he is building as well. Case in point Monday he was hanging up some drywall by my desk and when he brought it in it was just a tad big at the top and of course after calling himself a few choice names and such he decided to try something different. He started at the top and the bottom was off just a bit so he got a 2" X 4" and started knocking it in place. It worked well and as he was doing this he started talking to the drywall. I'm not kidding he was working away saying stuff like "you like that don't you" I had to turn away from my laughter. He's a cool dude but sometimes I wonder if he's all there if you know what I mean.
Does God really not like it when I don't forward these e-mails I get that say "if you don't forward this you are denying God." I don't really think that my place in heaven rests on whether or not I forward e-mails, at least I've never read anything like that in the bible.
No worship team practice for me tonight, its gonna be a stripped down version this weekend so I have a free evening, well almost it is meet the teacher night at the elementary.
I hope, but I know its not, that last night was the last time I have to mow for the year.
Still waiting for someone to step up and take the dog. Layla is cool but with everything going on she doesn't get the attention she needs. If you know anyone send'em my way.

40 to 80
Isn't it crazy when during the day the temps are around 80 but at night they dip down into the 40's? Makes for great sleeping. I'm getting excited for fall to actually get here you know sweatshirt weather, good football going on during the weekends, not having to mow as much. The only bad thing about this time of year is the bees and raking leaves, but with the tree in our front yard gone so to is most of the raking. Now if we could only have wind like Sunday when all the leaves are down and have them blown in the direction of the brush pile at the fire station we would be all good.
Went to another practice for the night of worship that is coming up this Sunday, go ahead and mark it down on your calanders so you'll be sure to be there. There are quite a few different people who will be doing songs including most of the worship team as we will be opening up and closing the evening.

New Release Tuesday
Each and every Tuesday I get an email from oddly enough "New Release Tuesday" and it lets you know of all the new christian cds that are coming out and has a review of some of them. It even has a genre listing to kind of let you know what style it is. Its pretty helpful and informative and just about every week it even gives you a sneak peak at a cd that is coming out. That sneak peak lets you listen to the entire cd with a few quick ID's in there but it gives you the listener a chance to check out some new music. Today when I got it I was able to listen to the new Lincoln Brewster cd "Today Is The Day" which will be out in stores next Tuesday the 23rd and I'm pretty sure that at some point I will be picking this cd up. Joy FM has been playing "Today Is The Day" quite a bit and I enjoy that song so I already knew that one going in but of course the cd version is a bit different, actually its much better than the radio edit they have. There are some good rockin moments, theres some good worship moments and even a blues song or two. If you don't know who Lincoln Brewster is I know you've heard some of his stuff on the radio and might not have known it. They play his version of "Everlasting God" on JOY FM, its the one with his son at the end of it reading some scripture. He is the leading guitarist in christiandom, that guy can wail, in fact he got his start as the guitarist for Steve Perry when he left Journey. If you get the chance you ought to pick it up next week or go here and sign up.

Back at it.
It's been a few days but now we are back at it so there is a bit to catch up on. First off Friday night I had a well overdue date with my wife Tammy, it has been awhile since we have had a date night but we got one Friday night. Went to the Roadhouse and ate then off to a few stores just to look around and got a few things. I hope that this becomes something that we do way more often than we do and I hope that all you married folks out there can also have date nights, they are cool. Saturday started out sucky, had to work again but only 'til 11 am this time, then got better even though we just hung out at home. Was it just me or was it awfully hot? Went for a shake with Tammy and the kids which got us out of the house.
Yesterday was fun, am I the only one that dug all the wind? It was cool sitting by the window watching the Colts and watching the wind outside, watched more of the wind for the first three quaters of the game then watched more of the game. I don't know what the gusts were but think about it they were not even half of what they were when Ike hit Galvaston. During youth we even went out and played a little football in the wind and eventually rain. That was fun but once again paying for it today by being all stiff and sore. Oh well probably do it again next week too.
Here is a list of yesterdays songs:
Let God Arise - Chris Tomlin (Dug this one and I have a feeling this one will be done alot more)
Your Grace Is Enough - Chris Tomlin (Totally screwed up the begining, started in and something didn't sound right and never did get it, I appologize)
Holy, Holy, Holy - Reginald Heber
Let My Words Be Few - Matt Redman
Lord Reign In Me - Benton Brown
Above All - Micheal W. Smith
